Hi everyone! Happy September! This week I’m going to share the gear I’d love to add to my gear page. These items would make my adventures go way more smoothly.

EZ Rack

If you’ve been around for any length of time, you know I’ve been wanting one of these for transporting my kayak. It would help with ease and energy conservation. It attaches to a roof rack and the platform slides to ground level, then when the boat is on it slides back on to the roof. If you’re interested in learning more, here’s their website.

Roof rack

In order for the EZ Rack to work, it has to attach to a roof rack. My car didn’t come with one and the only option is an aftermarket one. Even if I didn’t have the EZ Rack it would be easier to tie down the kayak.

Hiking boots

This isn’t 100% necessary for hiking, unless you are doing need ankle support. Tougher hikes or ones with a lot of climbing. If you remember my Devil’s Kettle post, I was wishing I had some ankle support. I haven’t done a ton of research, but have heard good things about Keen and Merrell. If you have any suggestions, PLEASE comment below.

Wagon

I’d like to have one of those wagons with the big off roading wheels. It would make getting gear from one place to the other, as well as hauling firewood from the shed to the campsite. It could also help with chores on the home front! I don’t have a specific one in mind for this one yet, so suggestions would be appreciated.

Clothesline

This one would be helpful to hand wet clothes and towels when they get wet for the any number of reasons. The one I am looking at is able to be strung between trees and has the clips woven into it.

Weather Radio

This year I realized that this piece of equipment is super important to have if you’re in an area with no service. Weather can change unexpectedly and it’s good to have a warning. These have batteries, but can also crank to power if they lose all their juice.

Other thoughts

This season I was gifted a floor mat for outside of my tent by one of my hiking buddies. The one made with scratchy stuff to brush off your shoes, so you don’t drag dirt into the tent. It was amazing and I didn’t know I wanted one until I used it on my camping latest camping trip. Big thanks and a shout out to them. I would recommend getting one for your tent if you don’t have one.
