The Road to Better Functioning: 4.0

  • by

Welcome to this week of improving my functioning in 2025! Thanks for stopping by. If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you know this past week was the week of appointments. There was an impromptu eye doctor for a new and weird looking floater (not serious, just annoying), a Physical Therapy referral appointment, regular therapy session, and orientation for Pulmonary Rehab.

Those appointments will help me with my mission to increase energy, lose the Prednisone weight, and improve my lung functioning for not only the upcoming season, but for life in general.

So, Physical Therapy?

Yep, I’m going back. This time it’s for bursitis in my pelvis. Somehow I have managed to aggravate pretty much all of them. Externally rotating my hips (think sitting crisscross applesauce), being super stiff and moving around in general, and all the pain and discomfort surrounding it make living life (and sleeping) difficult.

I am also getting my arms worked on. My tennis and golf elbow in both arms has been on a rampage. For the first time, it’s moved into my shoulders. The next step is likely my neck and that’s not going to work for me.

Hopefully getting these things taken care of will get me in good shape so I can actually get through the routines I talked about here.

And Pulmonary Rehab?

That too. I am going every Tuesday and Thursday for 1-1.5 hours each day for the next few months. It’s a lot to add to the schedule, but I think it’ll be worth it in the long run. I am going to get to exercise with respiratory therapists and exercise physiologists, as well on education on several topics that relate to Interstitial Lund Diseases, COPD, Asthma, and Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis. I have a feeling that I am going to know a lot of what’s in the education portions, but I am looking forward to learning something new. I’ll pass on useful info! I am also looking forward to working with a nutritionist to see if I learn something new here too.
