The Road To Better Functioning: 2.0

  • by

Welcome to week two of improving my functioning in 2025. If you haven’t seen week one, you can do so here. This week I will be continuing my CPAP journey as it’s still a new thing for me. So, I’ll be sharing my experience and my thoughts.

What did you notice?

Dream Master CPAP machine to help improve sleep and functioning.

My second week with the CPAP was still a mixed bag. By the end of week two, I felt the same amount of better as week one energy wise. I did notice an improvement in my mood. Most of the irritation, frustration, and not feeling like doing anything had gone away. The energy to do things increased, however, the stamina wasn’t quite there without caffeine.

I am still struggling with the mask. It’s still blasting me in the eye when I sleep on my side and irritating my TMJ. I’m still working on getting the perfect fit for me and my crooked nose. However, it has been less irritating to my skin. It’s still drying out, but I’m not having irritation from the silicone. My TMJ issues are being triggered as well, especially when on my side.

You’re probably thinking, Seleana, why do you keep trying to sleep on your side if it’s causing all of those irritating issues? Good question, I’d love to tell you. Chronic pain. Sometimes it’s the only way I can sleep without discomfort and/or pain in basically my entire lower body. Even with pillows. For my chronic pain, I should be sleeping on my back anyway, so maybe it’s something I can make happen more often.

For that to happen, I’ll have to work more on one of my other goals for improved functioning…strengthening my muscles. Stay tuned for that in future blogs.
