What is Seleana up to in 2025?

Welcome back, friends. Good to see you. Happy 2025! We made it. Hopefully this year will treat you well. I’ve got so much to share with you this year, so I hope you’ll stick around for all of the fun.

What we’re talking about this year…

First things first…JAPAN! I teased this last year when I found out it was for sure happening and am back with all of the places we visited. I’m excited for you to check it out and see that despite what we go through as chronically ill people, these things are possible. Sure, there were difficulties. There always is for people like us, but I had experiences I didn’t think I’d get to and met new friends along the way.

Second things second…State parks! I have six trips planned. Some are day trips, some are weekend getaways, but either way adventures will be had. Keep an eye out for 15 new park posts this season.

Third things third…Personal journeys! I’ve been working on improving my functioning in everyday life and have set some goals for the upcoming year. I have started my CPAP journey, finished my prednisone taper (WOOHOO!) and am ready to lose the weight and regain some muscle strength. I’d like to share them with you all, if you’re interested. I’m thinking about adding an extra post each week, so it doesn’t take a Friday adventure slot.

Last things last…Goals for Adventures of Seleana! Speaking of the goals above, I want to keep bringing you helpful and quality content. If there’s anything extra you’d like me to talk about, let me know, and I’ll do what I can. Another goal I have is to reach more people. I’d love to have more people in the community, so if you know anyone who would get something out of this (even if they’re not one of us chronically ill kids), please share it with them. Working on anything else?

It’s me, so of course there is. Most of my big goals fall into the ones I shared above, however, I do have some smaller ones that I’ll share.

  • Hit the highest level in the Social Butterfly, Daily Dipper, and Dabbler Audible badges.
  • Finish One Piece. I am currently on episode 665, so it’s probably an attainable goal. When I had Covid in 2023 (24 days guys…being immunocompromised is no joke), I was able to knock out like 500 episodes. It won’t be that fast this year, but I think it’s doable if I put my mind to it.
  • Speaking of books, I’d like to finish the books I have in my TBR pile. I have physical books, eBooks, and audiobooks. It’ll be a feat, but I’ll do my best.
  • Garden. I don’t have much space for food growing, but I’d like to find a way to grow some of my own veggies and fruit. My mom and a friend have space for me to grow, but it’d be cool to have them at my fingertips. Along with that, I’d like to learn to ferment. Mostly, I want pickles. We love pickles in this house and if I can fix the havoc antibiotic and prednisone wreaked on my guts I wouldn’t be sad.
  • Finish my novel and take the next steps. The first draft is pretty much done and my writing group has been helping me with editing. It’s almost ready for a couple more beta readers.
