Welcome back, friends! Glad you’re here. Hey, we made it to 2026. Hopefully, this coming year will be everything you want/need it to be. Last year didn’t go according to plan, so I have come up with a new one for 2026. So, stick around. I’ve got plans!
Do we need a recap?
So, since my 2025 plans kind of went off the rails I didn’t give the updates about the goals I set for both me and Adventures of Seleana. If you’re interested, I’ll share progress here. If not, feel free to scroll past this part and on to the next.
Adventures of Seleana Goals
- State Parks: I only got to four out of the six trips due to the Itasca flat tire situation. However, I do have six trips planned this year as well and am hitting some of the ones I missed.
- Reaching people and building community: This one didn’t go as well as I’d hoped, but due to the health issues I didn’t get to work on it as much. To be honest, the hundreds of spam comments and bot interactions had me discouraged at times. I’m going to put more into this one this year.
Personal Goals
- Weight loss and strengthening: Nope. I had a ten month long flare up, which I am still battling, but am at the tail end of it. This one left me with so much nerve pain and inflammation that I couldn’t get to much. I did walk, PT, yoga (only a few months), and my strengthening exercises, but it wasn’t consistent. I did gain a bit of weight, but that’s just normal fluctuation. Most of it is gone.
- Audible goals: Also nope. Things didn’t register, so I am going to keep plugging away and see what happens.
- Garden: This didn’t go according to plan. I got some beautiful plants and a fungus gnat problem. No fruit or veggies. I won’t be doing this again. Gardens are outside only for me from now on.
- Fermenting: I forgot about this one, so it didn’t happen.
- Finishing One Piece: Totally did this one. I am caught up to the dub. This was a feat….
- My Novel: I did finish it and am waiting on feedback from my beta readers. I also am thinking about getting a couple more for additional input. I did also hit my 10K goal for the novella I am writing as a companion.
So overall, I didn’t get much of what I wanted to done. I’m okay with it though. I’ll just keep plugging away.
What are we talking about this year?
First things first…State Parks! I mentioned above that I have six trips planned for the season. This should get me to 14 parks. I plan to post these every other week starting in May. I’m hoping that the weather cooperates. Last year it did, but a cold snap came through. The early trip will probably be in a cabin either way. I don’t tent in Minnesota in May. I am also going to share some of the State Recreation Areas that I won’t be visiting. They offer activities I’m not interested in, however, you may be so keep an eye out for those!
Second…Personal journeys! My goals here include strengthening and stabilizing my hypermobile joints, losing weight, writing 20k words on my novella project, and a few other personal things that I won’t talk about online.
Lastly, Goals for Adventures of Seleana! Speaking of the goals above, I want to keep bringing you helpful and quality content. If there’s anything extra you’d like me to talk about, let me know, and I’ll do what I can. Another goal I have is to reach more people. I’d love to have more people in the community, so if you know anyone who would get something out of this (even if they’re not one of us chronically ill kids), please share it with them. Like, comment, subscribe…
Working on anything else?
Yep, per usual. I am transferring some over from last year, but there’s new ones too.
- Hit the highest level in the Social Butterfly, Daily Dipper, and Dabbler Audible badges.
- I’d like to finish the books I have in my TBR pile. I have physical books, eBooks, and audiobooks. It’ll be a feat, but I’ll do my best.
- Continue my Japanese course. I started it before I left on that trip and fell off after I got back. I’d love to be conversational at some point.
- Save up for a new car. I have a small fund started, but am working hard to save up. My current car is almost 20 and she’s tired. Her and I have a lot of miles logged and it’d be cool to hit 300,000, but I’m not sure if that’ll be a thing.
I’m going about these a little different than in previous years. I’ve turned my normal planner into a fun journal of sorts, so the one book does both. I’m kind of excited to see how things go. If you want to see it, let me know in the comments.

Thank you so much for coming back month after month. Year after year. It means a lot and I hope you’ll keep coming around. <3 Seleana
